I think there's a lot of truth to this. I've incorporated some of it into my training. (cushioned shoes still feel better to me on the rocky, snowy trails I run.)

i like to use my nike Frees on my shorter runs but like you say Scott a bit of padding is nice is certain conditions!

I ran my first ever race a 10 mile run in Bury St Edmunds on the back of no training as a dare wearing dunlop green flash. Mind you just behind me was the ambulance and clear up crew!

Derek Clayton used to run 200 miles a week in Dunlop Volleys. But how many operations did he have? ;) Na, if they're as good as Frees, I'll try a pair!
