7TH PLACE AT MY 30th HARROCK HILL RACE

STAMPEDE AT HARROCK HILL
AFTER A VERY TRAUMATIC WEEKEND I SOMEHOW PULLED MYSELF AROUND TO FINISH 7TH AT HARROCK HILL.
My best time and result for many years. I used the advice Scott Jurek gave on the Marathon Talk Podcast of 'running in the moment' to good effect.
Even a stampede of cows didn't even effect me!
I lost maybe 15 secs at the cows did a reenactment of a wild west movie, after what seemed like minutes i jumped through a gap in the galoping cattle herd !
Near the end of the race a guy in front of me went off course, so I Slowed down and called him back onto the correct route, he then caught me back and just out sprinted me on the line!
sometimes I'm just to 'nice' :]

The club dominated winning first male and female teams.

Great run Rick = I hope to fit in a Harrock Hill race myself this year but I won't be anywhere near that sort of time

Great racing Rick! You milked it for all you were worth and were really moo-ving. Not far off 4th place. Now I'm going to go back and listen to that podcast!

Yes ewen , I took the 'Bull by the horns' and really 'churned' it out up the hills!

Sorry about the cows. There were 3 of us trying to marshall them up to the top end as usual, but they escaped and we chased them for 15 minutes before they were under control again. Just the sight of runners 200m away sets off the stampede!! The farmer refuses to move them.

Hope you enjoyed the race anyway.
