I'm not sure if that'll lead to an American breaking 2-hours, but what do I know. Regardless, definitely good food for thought on running strides in relation to efficiency.
I'm anti-bouncing, but the whole twin towers analogy overstates the case, I think. Once he started going on about hip angles, I got bored and stopped watching.
This is something I've noticed barefooters doing a lot - critiquing a few seconds of footage (ha ha) based on their idea of what perfect, efficient form is. A runner's form doesn't necessarily look the same every time they run. Body types are too different for a one-size fits all template.
Running just isn't part of the American culture that much. When it is, it's exercise, not a competition. And that's fine, it just means there's a smaller talent pool to work with, both for runners and coaches.
Anyway, I don't care who breaks the 2 hr barrier. I just think it would be cool if it happened. It would be REALLY cool if it was done by a Samoan, though.

Damn. Garbage day was this morning!
The 'runners' with the smallest vertical movement are race-walkers and we'll never see one of them do a 2 hour marathon!
