NEW BRITISH MARATHON RECORD!

25 years ago Steve Jones set the British Marathon record of 2:07:13, his time still remains the fastest time of any British marathon runner.
The Question is can anyone beat his record in the near future?

And are British runners no longer HARD enough to do the training?

Don't know Rick. I think the Pommy runners are soft these days - like their mates in the 1st test at the Gabba ;)

I remember staying up late to watch that race (glad you have the Aussie commentary). They missed the sprint between Deeks and Lopes at the finish. Great line from Len Johnson: "these Englishmen are all Smiths and Joneses" ;)
