I was shocked because I didn't expect it now but frankly its not like retirement wasn't an option.

Just think the sport will miss him. A prefect balance of talent and heart!

Me to Scott, I was looking forward to seeing him in London 2012.
And it's not like he had bad form, he flew round the great North 1/2 marathon a few weeks ago!
I wonder when the dust settles will he change his mind?
A great runner of our time, a great person of our time!

I suspect he'll change his mind -- isn't that what all the greats are doing nowadays in other sports? :)

I'll bet that he doesn't change his mind. Just a feeling but I have been wrong before.

I once used a pen when I should have used a pencil ;)
