Quick Poll: How fast will Sammy eventually run the marathon?

VOTE HERE

I think he can break the World record!

Recovery week 3
SHORT AND SWEET
Came down with a cold at the weekend, first real cold this year!
Maybe it's just the after effects of the marathon/
Anyway rested on Monday and decided on a short run today.
Tess and me were both Feeling quite good, we averaged 6.43 pace and finished with 6 x smart strides
total time 26 mins
This is the start of Tess's training for the MAD DOG 10k.
Also did the trigger Point Performance workout, its really helping to improve my muscle balance and posture.
Noticed my calf muscles are more flexible, my pelvis is in better alignment and my shoulders and chest feel much freer!

The below from "Japan Running News"
Wouldn't it be something to see Sammy break the World Record in London 2012! With Geb in there they both could do it!!!.

"Samuel Wanjiru (Kenya), who talked about the importance of gaman, the capacity of calm endurance he learned during his years living in Japan, and wrote the kanji for the word and his Japanized name on a banner for the Japanese TV audience. He also said that his ultimate goal is to defend his Olympic medal in London."

Scott, thanks for that article.
London 2012 should be fast and flat, but maybe the race with be quite tactical!

Yes, Sammy v Geb (and all the rest) in London would be something. I think he'll go for the world record before that. If Chicago had been cool, that would have been a 2:04 race. I think he can run 2:03:30.

I know what you're saying about "tactical" Rick but did you see what Sammy did in the last Olympics. Just ran flat out and held it, not very tactical, and with Geb chasing him down anything could happen!

Traditionally Olympics aren't fast world record events but with this new breed... "All bets are off" I reckon.
