I read this book several times and personally agree with the central theme of the book that long intervals around the deflection point are the key to improve the performance.
But .. the book left me really unsatisfied about the lack of explanation on how much is enough for this threshold workouts.
Even if my marathon time is more or less the same, I would not feel prepared to make 3 AT workouts a week, plus a race (as mentioned in the case taken as example in the book). If you follow his example, it would account for around 2 hours of AT work per week, like 2 half marathons...
Can we believe that this could be feasible for amateur runners ?
