You really have the skills at sussing out running related internet links. Thanks for that one too, I'll watch it over the holidays

And thanks for your most recent comment Rick.

Interesting link -- unfortunately I'm not in the UK.

Read Vero's blog a bit.
Sounds as if he was doomed to failure.
Two years is not really enough
to make the necessary musco-skeletal adaptations
even if you have the cardio-vascular base.

Oh well better luck next time.

it was a very high 1:13 -- 1:13:45
unless I'm wrong. Given his very "soft" 10k time 34:44 I pretty much agree with the guys on the runners world forum.

http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/forummessages.asp?UTN=101396&dt=4&URN=3&srchdte=0&cp=11&v=1&sp=

it's really just a beginning --
to run 2:15 you have to be hitting
< 65 minutes. Otherwise there would
be tons of women with the same times as Paula Radcliffe.

That said after 40 even sub 35
is an achievement for 10k.
All the best for the new year and
stick with Barry's plan.

They don't broadcast that link over here. Sounds interesting. I knew of his website. Certainly improved a lot. He probably should have given himself a 5-year plan to get to his best. Still don't think that would have been 2:15. Maybe sub-2:30 though.

Enjoy your last few runs of the year Rick, and catch you in 2010!
