I have always followed Lydiard's training principles. For safety, efficiency and hitting the races in top shape this is the most effective training system out there.

Interesting article Rick. While I did run 2 x 20 milers for my recent marathon PB it was far less that I wouuld normally do for a marathon and I base my good marathon form on running faster (MP) but shorter.
